We know that America has been hyper focused on the presidential election for the past few months and this past Tuesday was a culmination of our deepest thoughts and feelings finally rising to the surface. Whatever your political affiliation may be, we pray that you remember your spiritual affiliation even more. Emotions seem to be running high for everyone because of the things coming to pass on earth. Whether you’re breathing a sigh of relief or feeling a sense of despair we want to provide encouragement to you by reminding you that there is still work for Christians to do on earth.
While we acknowledge our feelings, we only do so in order to check them and ourselves. As Christians, we cannot allow the earthly happenings to give us amnesia on who we are in Christ. We cannot allow politics to shake us, move us or divide us. We would love for you to use this time to find solace and reassurance in the word of God more than a desire for you to find comfort in the words of man. We do encourage you, dear reader, to remember that this world is coming to an expectant end. So while we still have breath in our bodies we must get out of our feelings, plant ourselves in our faith in God and lead others to Christ. No matter who sits in the White House, God is still in control!
This newsletter will be a little shorter than usual because we would like to provide our brothers and sisters in Christ some scriptures to help keep us whole and focused during the mission at hand. You’ll find the rest below but we must write the following scripture just to remind you of one important thing we must do as Christians. “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected, but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”- Philippians 3:12
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for You reigning supreme over everything on earth. It is an honor to serve a God who loves His people and we are grateful for the gift of life You have given us. Lord, we ask that You help Your children understand the work they must do in Your Kingdom. So many of us have allowed the enemy to bring doubt and fear to us but we know that You are a Mighty God who cannot fail! We rebuke the enemy’s tactics and place confidence in Your children. As joint heirs with our savior, Jesus Christ, we shall not forget that we have victory over satan. Lastly, Father, we bring our nation’s leaders before You. No matter their position in government, I ask that You touch each leader and especially our incoming president. We ask that You give him a sound mind and a heart for Your people. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
