Blessed in Knowing Jesus

There is a blessing in the knowing of Jesus Christ. We know that God brought all things into existence in 7 days. We know that Adam and Eve ushered in the separation of man from God through sin. It is known that God established laws to keep His people close to Him. It is known that sin is a part of man and its temptation can be all too alluring for man to turn away from. It is known that a new promise was established with the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It is known that sin -if we so choose- can no longer hold us back from being reconciled to God. Sin does not have to win. Satan can be defeated. We are no longer victims but victorious. It is known. There is a blessing in the knowing of Jesus Christ.

How magnificent is our Savior when just the knowledge of Him has the capabilities to completely change the trajectory of our lives. And how much more enriched is our life when we believe the knowledge given to us. John 20:29 says, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” In Luke 24, two men travel from Jerusalem to Emmaus speaking of the things concerning Jesus of Nazareth. While they heard of Jesus and all that took place during his life and crucifixion, they were hoping he was going to redeem Israel. They seemed to be disappointed because Jesus didn’t seem to do as he promised. He didn’t show up in the way in which they wanted for Israel. Isn’t that human of us? We are pretty sure that a lot of us can relate to being disappointed or even frustrated in how we thought our prayers would be answered. However, we know our Father has our best interest in heart. On that road Jesus let the two men know that his appearance and their help was already foretold; they just didn’t listen and believe the prophets. Jesus took time to expound on the scriptures concerning Himself. The teachings these men were given were felt in their hearts and boosted them enough to where they ran all the way back to Jerusalem in the evening after finding out it was Jesus that told them all of these things. Isn’t it just like Jesus to fill our hearts so much that we can’t help but to share?

As Easter Sunday approaches and we begin to wear our finest clothes and stuff those plastic eggs full of goodies, let us be encouraged at the knowledge we have gained despite the enemy’s best effort to keep us distracted from God. Oh yes, this year has started out with a bang and our world is already starting to look different in 2025 but you know what? God is still in control! Gird up your loins and spread the good news. Jesus has risen! Let us be like those two men on the Emmaus road and tell the truth of the gospels. He has risen! Modern day chief priests and rulers may have nefarious actions and words for us but our Savior Jesus Christ has risen! Death has been defeated. Don’t be fooled by what you heard and remember to look in your Bible for what you know to be true!

The prophet Jeremiah said that the word of God was like in his heart like a burning fire shut up in his bones. (Jeremiah 20:9) He couldn’t help talking and spreading the word of God even though he tried his hardest. He had opposition all around him, he was beaten and jailed. Even still, he couldn’t resist holding the people of God to the word of God. He couldn’t help trying to warn the people of their wayward activities and the detriment to their lives if continued. For Jeremiah, he spoke to the children of Israel and Jesus spoke to all of mankind: the spreading of the gospel was and is essential. The enemy, satan, thrives in ignorance and confusion. We can’t give him a foothold in any aspect of our lives. I encourage each of my brothers and sisters in Christ to continue to open your mouths for your sake and the sake of others. There’s no telling what kind of seed you are planting in this world.

Dear Reader, we would like to leave you with a prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your child reading this newsletter. Thank You for Jesus Christ and giving us an opportunity to be reconciled to You. We draw closer to You now that we have defeated death. We thank You, Jesus Christ, for giving us the chance at salvation. Satan wants to keep us in the dark but we are grateful for the kingdom knowledge and we rebuke all attempts of deception from the enemy. We shall not be held back due to a lack of knowledge. We will be victorious in our ability to cling to the word of God. Bless those who are struggling and in need of You, Father. Please provide relief to those who are holding on and give courage to those who feel weak. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
